Adverse weather update - student information
Our campuses will operate as normal on Friday, 20 October but we are advising students to be aware of the likelihood of travel disruption due to the continued stormy weather conditions.
Adverse weather conditions are forecast to continue overnight and throughout tomorrow. An amber weather warning for very heavy rain covers an area of Ross-shire and Sutherland north of Dingwall and the remaining Highland area has a yellow weather warning for high winds.
Please be mindful of the local weather conditions and circumstances before taking the decision to travel to campus on Friday. For those who have to travel from or through an amber area we urge you to use your judgement and think carefully about your ability to get to campus safely.
It is not safe for anyone to travel from a red weather warning area, which currently includes parts of Aberdeenshire.
If in doubt, apprentices should speak to their employer and take advice from them before travelling to UHI Inverness.
Please check the latest weather warning information and travel updates before leaving for the campus:
- Keep updated on the local weather warnings: UK weather warnings - Met Office
- Check if your Stagecoach bus service is running: Inverness Service Updates - Find Out If Your Bus Is Running | Stagecoach (stagecoachbus.com)
- If planning to travel by train visit: Check your journey | Latest train service updates (scotrail.co.uk)
If you are unable to attend class due to extreme weather, you should report your absence in the usual way on My Day.
We will be monitoring the situation very closely, so please continue to check your student emails for updates.
