REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene (On Campus)
This one day course will provide basic knowledge of safe and hygienic methods of handling and storing food. Suitable for all employees whose work involves preparation or serving of food of any type.

REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene (On campus)
This four day course is aimed at cooks, chefs, supervisors or manager in the food preparation and serving industry.
The aim of this course is to provide a deeper understanding of food hygiene than is provided at the elementary level.
A written examination must be taken on completion of this course. Successful candidates receive the Certificate in Intermediate Food Hygiene (SCQF level 7) awarded by the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS).

Health and safety qualifications
Advanced First Aid for Mental Health (On Campus)
This 2 day qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will know how to recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse. They will learn about the first aid action plan for mental health, be able to put it in place and know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.

British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) Certificate Controlling Health Risks in Construction (Online via Webex/Zoom)
This course has been designed to provide training for construction site supervisors, so that they can better recognise and control the health risks specific to their workplace, by:
- Identifying the most commonly present health hazards found on construction sites
- Understanding the principles of risk control
- Identifying the measures needed to control common health risks from construction activities

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) General Certificate
UHI Inverness has been awarded the silver standard from NEBOSH as a learning partner, this means that we exceed the six learning principles for NEBOSH accreditation.
The NEBOSH General Certificate is the most widely recognised health and safety qualification of its kind, providing line managers and staff with a sound understanding of the principles of risk management.

Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) (Online via Webex/Zoom)
This course is for you if you’re considering, or already have, supervisory responsibilities. CCN1 (Domestic Gas Safety) Gas (On Campus)
CCN1 (Domestic Gas Safety) is the core qualification for engineers wanting to work on gas appliances and is accredited by Cert-ain. As soon as you have your CCN1 Gas Safety certificate you can apply to be on the Gas Safe Register.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation policy
UHI Inverness reserves the right to cancel or defer the dates of the courses. If we have to cancel a course, learners will be deferred to another scheduled date or given a full refund (if we are unable to provide a course on a date suiable to the learner).
In the event of cancellation of a course by the learner or their representative, the following charges will apply:
- More than 28 days - 0%
- 14 to 28 days - 25%
- 1 to 14 days - 50%
- No notice or non attendance without notice - 100%
UHI Inverness reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of £40 if the learner or their respresentative cancels (refund terms above). Cancellations can be advised to UHI Inverness by telephone but must be confirmed in writing, either by post or email to business.ic@uhi.ac.uk
Refunds are calculated from the date of the written confirmation of the cancellation being received by UHI Inverness.
Learner deferral requests must be received no later than 10 working days prior to the course start date, otherwise the above £40 administration fee will apply.
UHI Inverness will make all reasonable attempts to defer the learner to a suitable UHI Inverness course, but deferral requests are at the discretion of UHI Inverness as are any refunds after deferral requests. All awarding body costs arising from the learner deferral request must be met by the learner.
