Avril Lumsden

Avril is a lecturer in the Supported Education department and is the course lead for the Skillsbuilder 3 and Skills Connect courses. She joined the department in 2015, having originally started as a lecturer in Core Skills.

Avril entered teaching later in life after gaining a BSc (Open University) majoring in Health and Social Care. She subsequently went on to train as a primary teacher and studied with Aberdeen University to obtain her PGDE.

During Avril's spare time she enjoys walking her four dogs, cycling, outdoor swimming and paddle boarding.
