Karen Mackay

Karen teaches on NC and HNC Computing, HND Computer Science and BSc Computing.

Professional background:

Karen graduated from Inverness College UHI in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and studied Information Systems as a postgraduate student at Robert Gordons University.

Karen has held a number of roles including Business Analyst, Software Engineer and Systems Administrator in the telecoms and oil industries. Before starting at Inverness College UHI in 2009, Karen worked in a telecoms development role liaising with industry, local businesses and the Scottish government.

Interesting fact:

When working in the oil industry, Karen had so much bad luck with flights and lost luggage, when flying with a certain airline, that they used to fly her business class.  At least when she was stranded in transit with no luggage it was in relative comfort!
