Seonaid Morrison

I have been working in the hairdressing industry for 39 years, I worked in a salon in Nairn when I was on school holidays and Saturdays and absolutely loved it, so, I went to Inverness College and gained a Scotvec Level 2 Hairdressing and Barbering certificate.

I went on to work in a small salon in Dingwall before working for Essanelle within Arnotts in Inverness, a large hair and beauty company who had 186 salons in the UK. I was salon manager at the age of 22, one of my jobs was training, which I enjoyed, this gave me a passion for teaching. From there, I went on to do Level 3 Hairdressing and the Trainer/Assessor Award, followed by the Verifiers Award. I was lucky enough to get a job here, where I’ve been working for the last 30 years.

While working part-time at the college, I worked for SQA as an external verifier. I also worked for Wella as a Nioxin educator, this gave me an interest in hair and scalp problems, especially hair loss. As as result, I am now a Trichologist.

I am very passionate about the hairdressing industry and love teaching the new generation of hair stylists and hopefully soon the new generation of Trichologists. I have my own salon at home to keep my skills up to date.
