Rachel Fraser (36), from Muir of Ord, was revealed as one of the winners of the UHI Inverness Student of the Year Awards and celebrated her graduation in 2024.

The BA (Hons) Event Management graduate, originally from Aberdeen, said: “I loved studying at UHI Inverness. The lecturers and learning support staff were very helpful.” 

A former bar manager, Rachel suffered ill health and decided to go back to college to gain her HNC and then progressed onto a degree. 

She said: “The highlights were the lecturers who are all helpful and supportive. Sinead Brydon helped me out the most. I also enjoyed meeting The Bothy staff and the learning support staff over the last four years, they were always approachable.“
