Amanda teaches across Hospitality, Professional Cookery, Events and Business. She covers a wide range of subjects from Food Hygiene at both Elementary and Intermediate level, Food and Beverage Service, Supervision, Customer Service and Teamworking in our Sheiling Restaurant as well as a range of financial accounting and costing units.

She is a graduate of UHI Inverness and Stirling University, Amanda started work at UHI Inverness in 1998, and prior to that worked in the hospitality industry for several years in a variety of Front of House roles at both supervisory and management levels.

Angela is the workbased assessor for business and administration apprenticeships at UHI Inverness. With nearly 20 years of experience in this field working in both the private and public sector, including five years within UHI, Angela helps candidates complete vocational qualifications using evidence generated from their workplace.

Interesting fact

Angela is also a trained journalist and has a passion for environmental issues.

Catriona is Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Business and Management. She is a lecturer within the area of enterprise, marketing and operations.

She has a degree in Clothing and Textiles and a dual language MBA from the Ecole de Management in Lyon. After 19 years working across the world in product development, sourcing and manufacturing, Catriona joined Inverness College UHI in April 2009.

As part of her textile career, Catriona has cross-crossed the globe visiting a total of 21 different countries over three continents. Her life now is a little less busy, Catriona now lives 1.1 miles from Inverness Campus and clocks up considerable fewer air miles!

I teach on the Degree and HN modules for Business Law and Business Contractual Relations.

I previously worked as a qualified solicitor in Edinburgh specialising in commercial law. I have now been involved in teaching for over ten years in Australia and in Scotland.

I am a solicitor, specialising in employment law and discrimination. After working in large commercial law firms for 15 years, I set up my own employment law and HR consultancy in 2015. I advise clients on all aspects of employment law and discrimination, including: recruitment; drafting contracts, policies and procedures; managing employee relations; providing staff training and employment tribunal representation. I am also a mediator, trained through the Scottish Mediation Network.
I have been teaching part-time at UHI Inverness and across the UHI network for more than 10 years and have delivered various modules and programmes in law and human resources.

Heather teaches Administration and IT at both NQ and HNC levels across the Administration, Business and Accounting curriculums.

Professional Background

After leaving college, Heather worked in the NHS as a Medical Secretary before returning to study. Thereafter, she returned to the NHS to work in IT support before securing employment in the private sector as an IT trainer, working in Stirling/Glasgow.
Heather has been a lecturer at UHI Inverness since 2004.

I am most involved with the BA (Hons) Business and Management degree acting as a Personal Academic Tutor for Level 9 and 10 students. I am module leader for Level 7 Introduction to Enterprise and Marketing, Level 8 Marketing Fundamentals, Level 9 Entrepreneurship and Small Business Planning and Level 10 Innovation and Enterprise, International and Export Marketing, Researching and Planning a New Business Venture and Strategic Marketing. I am a Level 10 Dissertation supervisor and also teach on the MSc Leadership and Management programme.

Tim primarily teaches on the Business and Management degree programmes, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has also taught at an international level.

He works at UHI Inverness as a lecturer in Informatics. He is also a business researcher/consultant of many years standing and a co-director of a business solutions company working both nationally and internationally. He has qualifications in Information Management Systems as well Computing, Education and Business.

Tim's primary interest is in the design, management, and use of modern information systems to effect solutions in a wide variety of business and educational contexts.

Interesting fact

Tim worked as a radio operator in the submarine service of the Royal Navy. His first sub is now in the naval museum in Chatham Docks!
