Liz is a lecturer in the Beauty Therapy department at UHI Inverness. She teaches across all levels of Beauty Therapy from NC Beauty Care and Make Up, to HNC and HND Beauty Therapy. She began her teaching career at UHI Inverness in 2006. Previous to this, she has worked in the beauty therapy industry since leaving college in 1989 in a wide variety of salons and spas in the UK and abroad. She worked as a beauty therapist and spa manager aboard cruise ships for 4 years, before moving to Bermuda where she worked in an exclusive spa for 7 years. She then lived and worked in a salon in Spain for 4 years before returning to the UK.
Liz is fully qualified in all aspects of aesthetic beauty treatments such as facials, advanced facial and body therapy techniques, eye treatments, hand and foot treatments, advanced waxing and holistic treatments such as reflexology, body massage, hot stone massage and Indian Head Massage. She is also currently involved in inter-departmental teaching, delivering beauty skills and holistic treatments to social care students. She engages in continuous professional development every year to ensure that her skills are updated in accordance with current industry demands.
Liz is part of the college partnership with Creative Nail Design (CND) an international company at the forefront of the nail enhancement industry. She travels to their head office each year to update her training, knowledge, and skills to give an enhanced educational experience to her students.
