Elizabeth Allan

Liz teaches across all levels of Beauty Therapy from NC Beauty Care and Make Up, to HNC and HND Beauty Therapy. She began her teaching career at UHI Inverness in 2006. Previous to this, she has worked in the beauty therapy industry since leaving college in 1989 in a wide variety of salons and spas in the UK and abroad. She worked as a beauty therapist and spa manager aboard cruise ships for 4 years, before moving to Bermuda where she worked in an exclusive spa for 7 years. She then lived and worked in a salon in Spain for 4 years before returning to the UK. 

Louise is a part-time Lecturer in the Beauty Department and teaches all levels of Beauty and has been employed as a lecturer since 2003. 

My previous experience in industry includes Health Spa, hotels, Hair and Beauty salons. I am currently working within my own Beauty room and have been for the last 15 years.  

Marion has been a beauty lecturer for almost 10 years and have worked both full and part time.  She has taught the Senior Phase Programme since she began at UHI Inverness and particularly enjoys working with school students. She owns a beauty salon and has been the main makeup artist for Strictly Inverness since it began. 

Marion enjoys travelling and her hobbies include snorkelling, gardening and spending time with friends and family.

Ellen's career in teaching began in 1994 and alongside her job on campus she has been a practicing Beauty Therapist running her own business since 1991. This enables Ellen to stay up to date with industry and advise students wishing to set up on their own. 

Gail is a part-time lecturer in the beauty department and mainly teaches at Level 5 and 6 although is qualified to teach all levels. She joined the team in 2016 and combined teaching with running her own beauty spa business which was established in 1999. 

She has experience in lash extensions, gel extensions, holistic therapies such as reflexology, hot stones, aromatherapy, and a wide variety of aesthetic treatments

Jane is a full time lecturer in the beauty therapy department and her career in teaching spans over a decade.  Previous to this her experience in industry includes salon and spa experience, salon management and running her own beauty therapy business.

She is qualified in a wide variety of treatments and professional brands, including aesthetic treatments such as lash extensions, brow artistry, Make-up and advanced waxing, to holistic treatments such as stone massage, Indian head massage, reflexology and aromatherapy and enjoys seeing the growth of her students from education into budding therapists and salon owners.

Within UHI Inverness, she is proactive in organising external visits and trips for the students to participate in; including The International Make-up artistry Trade show (IMATS) in London and the Scottish hair and beauty show in Glasgow.

Tracey has been a beauty therapy lecturer for over 20 years her previous industry experience includes salon and spa therapist, hairdressing, running her own business and working as a therapist on a cruise liner.

Within UHI Inverness she is proactive in organising external visits to enhance the student experience and enjoys all aspects of the beauty industry. In particular, manual and electrical face and body treatments along with clinical aromatherapy. Tracey continues to complete continuous professional development within the beauty therapy industry to enhance the student experience.
