Attend timetabled classes delivered by our college lecturer in a virtual classroom. Students access all their learning and assessments via Brightspace or Google Classrooms.

• explaining what is meant by the terms ‘mental health’ and ‘wellbeing’ for individuals and wider society
• explaining a range of mental health issues
• describing the role of the brain in relation to mental health and wellbeing
Influences on Mental Health and Wellbeing
• describing factors that may influence mental health and wellbeing
• describing the influence of technology and social media on mental health and wellbeing
Coping Strategies and Building Resilience
• exploring helpful and unhelpful coping strategies
• explaining how to promote good mental health and wellbeing in self and others
• explaining different types of support and ways to address barriers to support mental health and wellbeing
What next...
On successful completion of this course you could move on to study a social science such as Psychology or pursue further education or training in the areas of Children & Young People, Health, or Social Care Services. This course is also beneficial as a standalone qualification that will help with your self-awareness and personal development
