Higher Childcare and Development enables you to understand child development and factors that influence development from pre-birth to 16. Students will study theories of development and the way these are applied to working with children and young people, and develop awareness of initiatives and strategies used to inform current childhood practice.

Entry requirements
Three passes at National 5 (one in a literacy based subject). You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the early years, childcare and playwork sector, and have an interest in working in this sector.
