RLI staff member visits Norwegian genetics lab

In November, 2016 Barbara Morrissey visited a fisheries genetics lab at the Institute of Marine Research in Bergen, Norway. She received training on protocols for screening salmon for microsatellite markers as well as a diagnostic sex marker. This will allow the RLI to get these protocols up and running in our own facility and allow the calibration of these data sets with other groups throughout Europe.
