Horizon 2020 AMBER launch and official opening of BioMAG laboratory
On 30th November, the RLI hosted a launch of a new EU Horizon 2020 reseach project, working with 19 other partners across Europe. The AMBER (Adaptive Management of Barriers in European Rivers) project seeks to apply adaptive management to the operation of dams and barriers in European rivers to achieve a more efficient restoration of stream connectivity and address impacts caused by river fragmentation. Alongside this event was the official opening of the RLI’s . Guests were given a tour of the lab with an overview of the equipment and types of projects this facility is currently supporting and will continue to develop.
