Conference details
The conference programme
The conference will run from the morning of Wednesday 17th September to the afternoon of Friday 19th September. At this stage we expect the 17th and 19th to be devoted to oral and poster presentations at the conference centre in Inverness. On Thursday 18th September we are planning a day of field excursions to the nearby Cairngorms National Park where delegates will have the opportunity of seeing a range of ambitious and exciting beaver and other wildlife restoration projects. We hope to hold organised social events on the evenings of 17th and 18th. More details will be provided later.
The submission of abstracts
The submission of abstracts is now closed. Thank you to the many of you who sent abstracts for consideration – the Scientific Committee is now assessing them and will be in touch in May. The authors of those presentations that are approved will then be invited to register. Presentations that focus primarily on scientific research and innovation (for example in the fields of biology, ecology, environmental science, sociology, veterinary studies, conservation biology etc.) and significant advances in management and policy, are being prioritised.
Registration
Once the selected presenters have registered for the event (we anticipate this will be during May and June) we will open the event up to others working in beaver research, policy and management who wish to attend.
The registration cost is likely to be approximately £280, which includes the field excursions and social events. Delegates will be expected to make their own accommodation arrangements.

British Beaver Conference 2026
As stated above, the 10th International Beaver Symposium will focus on scientific research, innovation and significant advances in management and policy.
Those of you based in Britain may be interested to know that a British Beaver Conference is also being planned by the Beaver Trust for spring 2026 at a venue to be decided. The British Beaver Conference will have a different focus, and designed to be of particular interest to those considering or managing beaver projects in Britain. It will cover some of the more practical and specific considerations of such British projects. The organisers of the 10th International Beaver Symposium 2025 and British Beaver Conference will liaise and coordinate their two events.
