I’m a PhD student at the Centre for Remote and Rural studies since late 2014. The PhD is supervised by Dr Philomena de Lima and looks at forestry skills provision for the 21st century in a multifunctional setting. At the moment, I’m interviewing forestry practitioners and stakeholders to understand how their views on entering the profession, skills issues and future impacting factors could enrich debates in FE/HE forestry education and recruitment. Prior to moving to Scotland in early 2014, I did a bachelor’s and master’s degree with focus on education (ESOL, Biology) at the University of Vechta, Germany. I also represent the PGR student body within my academic partner as well as on UHI level. Apart from enjoying the great outdoors, I skate for the Inverness City Roller Derby team and eye Terry Pratchett’s last book, which I own for a year but don’t dare to read.
