University programme shortlisted for enterprise award
A PROGRAMME designed to inspire and unlock enterprising talent amongst students has been shortlisted for a national award.
Scotland’s Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Educators’ (SEE) Programme, run by CREATE, the University of the Highlands and Islands’ Centre for Enterprise and Innovation based at Inverness College UHI, has been named as a finalist in the National Enterprise Educators Awards, run by Enterprise Educators UK.
The programme has been shortlisted in the Enterprise Catalyst category, which recognises an individual or team from further or higher education, who are delivering exceptional enterprise education or practice, inside or outside the curriculum.
The SEE programme is a three-day residential programme, which facilitates and develops enterprising learning by giving educators the tools and knowledge to inspire their students and provide greater accessibility to enterprising and entrepreneurial education.
Programme leader Roz Thomas said: “We are delighted to be nominated for this award amongst so many other incredible individuals and teams from across the UK. The SEE Programme focuses on providing educators with the skills, understanding and confidence to enable their students to become creative and confident individuals, whatever they undertake. Given the current pandemic this is even more crucial for our learners who need to look for opportunities and forge a future for themselves.”
The programme is also in the running for the ‘People’s Choice’ award, with voting now open at www.neea.org.uk/peoples-choice. Voting closes on Wednesday 9th September.
Winners will be announced at the National Enterprise Educator Awards on Friday 11th September.
