New Chair sought for Inverness College UHI Board of Management
The successful candidate will set the strategic direction of Inverness College UHI and play a key role in ensuring its vision and mission is achieved.
Current chair Neil Stewart steps down on 31st December following his four year tenure of office.
Mr Stewart, who works for NHS Highland as Head of Procurement and Logistics, has overseen the growth of Inverness College UHI since moving to Inverness Campus in 2015.
During Mr Stewart’s tenure, student pass rates have improved year-on-year, making Inverness College UHI one of the best performing colleges in Scotland. Student numbers have also increased by over 25 per cent, across apprenticeships, further education and higher education.
Mr Stewart, who also sits as a member on Court at the University of the Highlands and Islands, said: “This is a time of significant local, national and international change. Inverness College UHI must be ready to play its part in supporting our communities to thrive.”
Membership of the Board of Management includes individuals from across the community, public and private sector as well as Inverness College UHI staff and students. It is an autonomous body, responsible for overseeing the College’s activities, future direction, and facilitating an environment where the vision is achieved and the potential of all learners is maximised.
