Inverness College UHI and HISA Inverness sign Student Partnership Agreement
Professor Christopher O’Neil, principal and chief executive of Inverness College UHI, and George Gunn, president of the Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) in Inverness, have formally signed the Student Partnership Agreement for 2019-20 – a plan which sets out how we will work together to improve the student experience in Inverness.
The Agreement presents highlights of the work being done to improve the student experience in partnership between the Board of Management of Inverness College UHI and HISA Inverness. It sets out opportunities for students to become involved in representing the student voice and how they can engage in the work and life of Inverness College UHI.
The Student Partnership Agreement is underpinned by an interactive resource on MyDay, which, under 8 themes, maps out how we can work together to make the student experience excellent. It is used as a marker to promote discussions between students and staff and set actions and responsibilities.
Key enhancement themes chosen in partnership by the College and HISA for this year include:
- Student voice in partnerships
- Advice, support and progression
- Student life
Specific actions centre around communication and opportunities for students.
The Student Partnership Agreement is a commitment to open, constructive and continuous dialogue, where all partners are equal.
HISA updates on the work associated with the Student Partnership Agreement at its monthly Student Representative Council.
