What is special about this course?

With the increasing demand for workers skilled in cyber and digital technologies, this course provides you with foundational skills to progress in this growing sector. You will learn how to build, upgrade, and fault-find on computer systems, as well as develop interactive multimedia skills in web and app development. You will have the opportunity to develop basic programming skills and actively organise and promote live esports events.

This course combines technical expertise with real-world applications, ensuring students gain hands-on experience while preparing for careers in computing, multimedia, and esports industries.

The course includes:-

  • Building and maintaining computer systems by installing and upgrading hardware components, such as motherboards, storage devices, and peripherals​.
  • Installing and configuring software, including operating systems and applications, and applying troubleshooting techniques to solve software-related issues​.
  • Developing and testing small-scale computer networks, including configuring routers, switches, and end-user devices​.
  • Designing and building websites using HTML, CSS, and contemporary design techniques.
  • Developing interactive multimedia content, such as animations or user interfaces, for apps or games.
  • Conducting usability tests and refining designs based on accessibility and functionality evaluations.
  • Exploring the history and evolution of the esports industry, including researching popular tournaments, platforms, and career opportunities.
  • Planning, organising, and hosting live esports events, including tasks like creating branding, designing tournament formats, and managing streaming platforms.
  • Collaborating in teams to promote esports events on social media and evaluating their success through audience feedback and social metrics.
  • Practicing and analysing gameplay tactics in popular esports titles to understand roles, strategies, and scoring systems.
  • Participating in team-based esports competitions, implementing strategies, and evaluating both individual and team performance​.
