Research Supervision (SCQF Level 11) CPD Award

Course code X30R

What is special about this course?

The role of a research supervisor is crucial in determining the calibre of a student’s experience, as well as the quality and timeliness of completion of their project, dissertation, or thesis. Too often, the requisite supervisory skills are accumulated through trial and error, rather than through experienced guidance towards self-evaluative supervisory practice.

This CPD Research Supervision (SCQF 11) seeks to provide you with a framework for these practices, helping you to establish the essential benchmarks of high-quality supervision to advance the interests of students, sponsoring bodies, and parent institutions alike, at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels.

As indicated in the QAA Code of Practice for supervising research students in higher education, institutions are being encouraged to develop their own models of good practice in research degree supervision. Learn to describe and test such models on this valuable CPD course and become part of the new generation of supervisors who incorporate this beneficial practice in your work.
