Computing for Beginners (Access)
To enable students to gain more confidence with Access and includes: creating a database, creating tables, creating forms, running reports and running queries.

Computing for Beginners (Excel)
Course will include an introduction to excel, using tool bars and using menus, using formula bar, creating and printing charts.

Computing for Beginners (PowerPoint)
Includes, creating a presentation, applying slide styles, adding content, animating slides and slide transitions.

To give confidence in use of a computer.  Switching on, logging-in, screen layout and menus.  Scrollbars, tool buttons and the use of most common tool buttons.  Editing files, saving files, printing and an introduction to surfing the internet.

Flower Arranging Stage 1
A general introduction to flower Arranging.  All levels of ability welcome to join in this relaxing, creative and fun class where you will learn how to display flowers in stylish and yet simple ways.

Equipment required:  You will need to bring the flowers required each week - you will be advised before your first class exactly what you will need to bring.

Healthy Basic Cooking on a Budget
A 6 week course that introduces students to a range of good wholesome dishes for those cooking on a budget.  Open to all ages, particularly useful if your budget is restricted.  Is your income, grant/bursary/loan or pension not stretching as far as you would like?  Simple, wholesome and easy to cook meals.  Covering a range of different dishes whilst adhering to a strict budget.

Equipment required:  Main ingredients to be supplied, chef will confirm a week in advance.

ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extras
ECDL Essentials is an excellent introduction to the world of IT, with units covering the fundamentals of using IT, with a particular focus on the first steps in using a computer, explanations of the internet and email and how they can be used safely and productively.                                                         
ECDL Extra builds on the learners’ initial experience and basic knowledge and improves their understanding of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.

Can be started at anytime (studied from home).

Number of weeks: Each stage must be completed within a year.
Cost: £174 ECDL Essentials, £235 ECDL Extra
Entry requirements: None
Equipment required: You will need access to a computer with a broadband connection as this course is studied from home.

 

ECDL Advanced
The Advanced ECDL qualification is designed to progress the computer skills benchmark from the internationally successful European Computer Driving Licence® (ECDL) to the next level of competence. 
Advanced ECDL covers four modules:
Word Processing
Spreadsheet
Database
Presentation
The home study pack is a step-by-step guide for each of the modules (an Advanced ECDL book, published by CiA Training Ltd).  It contains images of what you will see on your PC monitor and includes self-check exercises, practical exercises and solutions.

Cost: £142 per module (4 modules)
Entry requirements: Before embarking on Advanced ECDL you must have attained certification in ECDL Essential and ECDL Extra.
